The Longnan World Hakka Folk Culture City project is located in Longnan Town, Longnan City, with a total land area of 475 acres and a total investment of 820 million yuan. Longnan Hakka Culture City is the main venue for the 32nd World Hakka Family Reunion Conference in 2023, serving as a window to showcase the image of Ganzhou and Longnan to the world. The main construction contents include the main venue of the World Hakka Association, the Weidu Square, the Friendship Bridge, the Wushiwei Hotel, the Impression Star Hotel, the Binhe Leisure Landscape Park, the riverside specialty food street, the sound and light movie and music show, real estate supporting facilities, etc. It is a new business card and living room of Longnan City that integrates collective experience of Longnan Hakka culture, intangible cultural heritage culture, tourism sightseeing, leisure and entertainment, commerce, night economy and other functions.
The exterior of the main venue of Shike City has the grandeur of Guanxi Xinwei, while the interior incorporates the Yanyi Wei horse corridor. The architectural style is inspired by the Hakka walled houses in southern Jiangxi, with hollowed out carved Chinese style doors, the highest standard hanging mountain top among southern dwellings, and Hakka elements such as artillery towers and small green tiled roofs. It is both quaint and elegant, and rich in Hakka cultural characteristics. From an aerial perspective, the entire main venue resembles the word 'guest'. The preserved Longyan Pagoda is the dot of the character "ke", while the Wushiwei Hotel is like a Baogaitou. The preserved residential buildings form the reverse of the character "ke", and the Shike City is the mouth of the character "ke". The entire Shike City looks like a giant dragon soaring from the river, reflecting the landscape of the Dragon City.
The main venue of Shike City has three floors, each with an area of approximately 10000 square meters. The first floor "World Hakka 'Extraordinary' Exhibition Hall for Intangible Cultural Heritage" is divided into 8 sections, selecting about 120 representative intangible cultural heritage projects from various aspects such as clothing, food, housing, transportation, festivals, and life etiquette of Hakka people, covering Jiangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Sichuan, Guangxi, Hong Kong, Taiwan, as well as overseas countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.
On the second floor, there is the "Better Today - Walking into Ganzhou" exhibition, which is a key project of the 32nd World Expo. The exhibition covers an area of over 5000 square meters and follows the "1+20" model, with "1" Ganzhou main exhibition hall and "20" county (city, district) characteristic halls for display. Among them, the main exhibition area is divided into four sections with time as the exhibition line to comprehensively display the development of Ganzhou City, namely: looking back at the past, the turbulent years, striving for a new era, and Ganzhou towards the future. County (city, district) pavilions highlight their distinctive features and are displayed according to the positioning of "one county, one product". The entire exhibition is based on various new technologies such as sound, light, and electricity. On the second floor, the Shanghua Culture and Art Exhibition Hall has also been introduced, with an exhibition area of over 2000 square meters. From Hongshan Culture, Liangzhu Culture, Warring States Culture, Han Tang Culture, Song Yuan Culture to Ming Qing Culture, there are more than 2000 exquisite cultural relics including jade, gold, silver, bronze, porcelain, and miscellaneous items.
